    ABOUT SHAWN

    Shawn served in the Army and Army Reserves for 22 years and was received an Honorable Discharge in 2009.

    Assigned to Task Force Troy, Weapons Intelligence Team (WIT) Team 6 Taji Iraq, attached to 710th & 763rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company (EOD) Camp Taji Iraq. Under the direction of the 4th Infantry Division.

    Shawn was responsible for conducting exploitation and analysis on all IED incidents (i.e. Pre/Post blast incidents, caches, and targeted raids). He and his team produced 400 detailed written reports for each IED incident to include PowerPoint presentations with photos and a sector sketch. These reports were then distributed to multiple intelligence agencies throughout the intelligence community. He effectively trained new soldiers in the Weapon intelligence investigating and gathering field.

    Shawn was wounded twice by IEDs on Feb 10th & 14th 2006. Shawn was awarded a Bronze Star, 2 Purple Heart Medals, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Action Badge, due to injuries received in Iraq he was retired by the Army.

    Shawn currently works at the Chester County Prison and oversees the care, custody, and safe guard of inmates.

    Shawn is married to his wife Kathleen and they have three children Kristyn (28), Kevin (16), and Kaylynn (10).

    Each new Conquering Kili class accepts the challenge to embark for the summit, a walk that represents the miles that many African women journey on a daily basis to fetch water for their families. While training for the climb, each team member works to raise funds and transform communities through the gift of clean water.
