    Kili Class

    2026 Conquering Kili Class

    Role

    Clean Water Advocate

    Location

    Charlottesville, VA

Scott grew up in Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University before his career path took him on a journey across the country. After a stint in New Jersey working at a nuclear power facility, he relocated to Chicago and ran technology for a non-profit healthcare consortium providing healthcare for communities without access to insurance.  From there, Scott made the move to capital markets which took him to New York where he served in various roles in technology and sales on Wall Street.  Scott called NYC home for 15 years until moving to Raleigh, NC during the pandemic.

New York is also where Scott met his lovely wife, Kelly, and where their family story began. Today, they’re raising two energetic boys, Gus and Charlie, who love exploring North Carolina’s mountains, beaches, and lakes.

Giving back has always been a big part of Scott and Kelly’s lives. They’ve been proud supporters of the Babies Heart Fund at Columbia University Medical Center, the No Stone Unturned Foundation supporting children and families with special needs and various local Raleigh charities. Their circle of friends has also led them to the Charlottesville, VA area where they have participated in a number of The Waterboys fundraising events over the past few years and after meeting Chris Long and hearing him speak passionately about the critical need for fresh water in so many local communities it was an easy call to sign up and join the amazing team climbing Kili in 2026.

Each new Conquering Kili class accepts the challenge to embark for the summit, a walk that represents the miles that many African women journey on a daily basis to fetch water for their families. While training for the climb, each team member works to raise funds and transform communities through the gift of clean water.
