It’s Bigger Than Ball!

Dear Supporter,

As professional athletes, we receive a lot of individual attention. The running commentary from the media, our coaches, and our fans means that we have a natural tendency to turn inward and think about, “What can I do better?” And while there’s nothing wrong with personal improvement, what we have found is that the best outcomes actually come from a team effort!

For the last four years, Waterboys has tackled the world’s clean water crisis with teamwork and dogged perseverance. From a roster of Chris’ NFL peers to adding current and retired professional athletes to the Conquering Kili program to launching Hoops2o last Fall with Malcolm and his Starting 5, expanding our family of athlete advocates has meant sharing our message on new fields, at new stadiums, in new arenas, and across new social networks! With each new messenger comes a new platform, a new megaphone and a new crowd of fans who are willing to join in our mission of bringing clean water to 1 million people in need.

For us, today – World Water Day – is one of the biggest days on the world stage when it comes to raising awareness and funds for why we do what we do.

There are currently 844 million people worldwide without access to clean water. To date, thanks to the entire Waterboys team, we’ve funded 55 wells and provided this life-giving resource to over 211,000 people in need. And while we’re very proud of the work we’ve done, the chasm between those we’ve served and those who are still living without clean water means we must do more!

Here’s how you can do your part:

Support the Team!

We’re poised to make a big difference during our Bigger than Ball campaign which starts TODAY and will continue for the next 12 days. Thanks to our partners at Global Water Challenge (GWC), any donations made that support Hoops2o or Waterboys athletes will be matched 1:1, up to $10,000. This means whether you’re donating $6 to provide access to one person or $30 to provide access to a household, your gift extends even more support in the areas of clean water access and sanitation, which are top priorities to both organizations.

Remember, every action, no matter the size adds to our collective impact!

Thanks for joining us and all the Waterboys and Hoops2o athletes in showing the world….it’s bigger than ball!

With gratitude,

Malcolm Brogdon Hoops2o Founder Milwaukee Bucks

The Dittmans’ Journey to Water Security

In a Parker, Pennsylvania home rich with history, the Dittman family faced an increasingly challenging daily routine. Their household, passed down through generations, drew water from a natural spring on the property. Over the years, this spring, once a consistent source, had become unpredictable. Its flow diminished, especially during the dry seasons, leaving the family […]

Women Bear the Burden When There is No Water

WORLD WATER WEEK 2023 Women in Kenya experience greater inequality when there is no access to clean water. But why? Nearly 900,000 people without basic drinking water live in Sub-Saharan Africa, and 7 out of 10 households without a clean water source place the onus of collecting water on women and girls. As a result, […]
