About the Group

Rashad “Sugar” Evans is a retired American mixed martial artist. Evans started his professional fighting career in 2003 after wrestling at Michigan State. His early success landed him on the heavyweight season of The Ultimate Fighter, which he ended up winning after beating Brad Imes by split decision. Evans dropped down to light heavyweight after the show, and won his next six matches. On December 27, 2008 at UFC 92, Evans faced champion Forrest Griffin for the UFC Light Heavyweight belt and won. It would take Evans four more years before he earned his second title shot against UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. Evans spent six more years fighting in the UFC until his retirement in June of 2018. Evans also has a growing career in TV and broadcasting with roles in commercials, as a commentator on FOX. Today, Evans enjoys spending time at his home in Boca Raton with his kids.
